Tutankhamun’s weavers

350.00kr

Christina Rinaldo and Kazuyo Nomura

Hardback, 124 pages
Christina Rinaldo and Kazuyo Nomura tell the story of their work reconstructing the more than 3000 year old textiles from Tutankhamun’s grave for the show, “Tutankhamun’s Wardrobe”, held at the Textile Museum of Sweden in Borås, 1999. They describe the cloth analysis, dyeing processes and the search for sufficiently fine
thread, as well as trips to the museum in Cairo to see the textiles and to the Sahara desert to meet and learn from the weavers living there.
