Three weeks with nice people, all interested in Textile. We have really met a treasure.<\/p>\n

Here is a small selection.We started<\/span> in Lima<\/span> and saw<\/span> textiles from<\/span> Pre-<\/span>Inca. Incas<\/span> lasted<\/span> about 300<\/span> years, with<\/span> 100 years of<\/span> their<\/span><\/p>\n

heyday.<\/span> But<\/span> cultures have<\/span> been there<\/span> before,<\/span> for thousands of years<\/span>. As<\/span> Paracas,<\/span> the culture that<\/span> has the largest<\/span> textile<\/span> treasure<\/span> (700 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The journey<\/span> went on<\/span> over<\/span> the desert area<\/span> on the coast,<\/span> over the mountains<\/span>, close<\/span> to<\/span> 5000 meters<\/span> and<\/span> the journey to<\/span> “<\/span>highlight” – visit<\/span> the community<\/span> Chari<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>Where we<\/span> besides<\/span> good food<\/span>, camp feeling in the<\/span> dormitory<\/span> and<\/span> dance,<\/span> got to see<\/span> their<\/span> textile<\/span> crafts;<\/span> spinning of<\/span> alpaca<\/span> fibers,<\/span> vegetable dyes<\/span> with<\/span> own<\/span> plants<\/span><\/p>\n

(except<\/span> indigo<\/span> as<\/span> they have to buy<\/span>), warping<\/span>, weaving and knitting.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We continued<\/span> to Cusco<\/span> and<\/span> a visit with<\/span> Nilda<\/span> Callanaupa<\/span> working with<\/span> the Peruvian<\/span> textile<\/span> tradition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Are you going<\/span> to Cusco<\/span> is<\/span> a visit to the<\/span> Textile Center<\/span> an experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

It offers<\/span> a rich variety of<\/span> weaving techniques<\/span> of a<\/span> very fine quality<\/span>, knitted creations and<\/span> a<\/span> very nice museum.<\/span><\/p>\n

In our<\/span> February issue<\/span> will be<\/span> a little bit more<\/span> from Peru<\/span>, including the fiber from<\/span> the cute<\/span> alpacas<\/span> and their<\/span> camel<\/span> relative of<\/span> the llama<\/span>.<\/p>\n

In the<\/span> textile<\/span> center<\/span> I bought<\/span>, among other things,<\/span> a fine<\/span> potato sack<\/span> in alpaca<\/span> and<\/span> llama<\/span> fiber.<\/span> That<\/span> you will see<\/span> then!<\/span><\/p>\n
